We are beginning a very exciting year! This year, your child will be taking the North Carolina End-of-Grade Assessments. They will have many opportunities throughout the year to practice with EOG-like assessments so they are well prepared.
Help your child daily with reading comprehension by asking them to tell you about the books they are reading. If you have not signed up for HomeLink with the Accelerated Reading Program, please email me and ask how you can do this! Try doing a search of the book your child is reading online, you may be able to find a summary so that you could ask your child questions about what he or she is reading.

Grading Policy
Homework: 10%
Classwork: 15%
Quizzes: 25%
Tests: 50%
Homework is graded based upon completion. Any problem not attempted is counted as wrong.
Classwork includes note taking and assignments during class.
LATE/MISSING ASSIGNMENT POLICY:
If a student is absent, it is the student's responsibility to complete and return all missed assignments. Students have three days to complete work due to an absence.
When a student does not complete a homework assignment, he or she will earn silent lunch for that day. Students have three days to complete the assignment.
